The Art Of Packing

I'm usually in Essex to visit my boyfriend, at least every other weekend, and I've had to get the art of packing down to a tee. Some weekends we just chill out with a box set and sweets or we will go out shopping, or to the cinema and other times we will go for dinner, drinks or on a night out. I've grown to learn the word 'planning' is pretty much blasphemy in the boy-dictionary, and therefore my outfit choices for the weekend have to be planned for all occasions. I try to keep my packing to a minimum of one bag, as much as I wish I could, I know I probably shouldn't take my whole wardrobe just for a couple of days. I find the best thing to do is plan day to night outfits mixed in with comfy lounging clothes and more dressy items to mix and match if the situation presents itself. Take a look below for this weekends planned outfits - talk about organised ;) xxx

ONE DRESS - THREE OUTFITS

When I'm working from home I pretty much live in cute jersey dresses, and this black, strappy number is definitely one of my favourites. I love it because it's soooo comfy and really versatile. I thought I'd show you a few ways I wear it, and make it look different every time. Unfortunately this particular one isn't in stock anymore, but Topshop do a similar version without the waist seam and also a midi version (which I've got aswell haha) So have a sneak peek as to how I style it and let me know what you think :)

FROCK ON VINTAGE

So I thought I would fill you in on a little project I have been working on for the past month or so. A dear friend of mine (Pam Cheema) has her own AMAZING vintage clothing company called Frock On Vintage. She stocks as a concession at Topshop in Birmingham and she also has her own studio in the Custard Factory in Digbeth. If your not lucky enough to live in or near Birmingham, Frock On Vintage also have their own website (this is where I come in) Pam asked me to help out with the re-launch of the site, and of course I agreed to be a part of this incredible venture. For the past couple of weeks, I've been writing descriptions, coming up with snappy titles and uploading an abundance of super stylish vintage gems. And now this is where you come in - the site is officially LIVE! Go snap up those killer one-off pieces before some other stylish fashionista gets there before you.

Weekend Nails: Glitter Tips

Happy Saturday to you allllll!

Today I thought I would do a little tutorial of my weekend nails. I'm going out tonight and still haven't decided what to wear! So thought I'd go with these classy nails as they will go perfectly with all my outfit choices. I've gone for Barry M's 'Nude' polish for my base colour, but you can choose any colour you like - I've done this design before with black, burgundy, mint etccc. I thought I'd go for a safe nude tonight though. So I'll give you a quick step by step incase my photos don't show what exactly is it that I'm doing haha.

1) Start with nail varnish free, clipped and filed fresh nailsss - and give them a base coat. I use Barry M's 'Basecoat Topcoat & Nail Hardener All In One'.

2) Once your base coat is dry, paint your nails with the nail varnish colour of your choice. I used Barry M's 'Nude'.

3) Once your colour is dry, take your cut off sponge and coat it up with your glitter polish. I used Barry M's 'Gold Glitter'

4) Sponge your glitter onto the tips only, making sure to be lighter on your application as you work down the nail.

5) Take the glitter nail varnish and go over the very tips of your nails to make it look really glittery right at the top.

6) Once dry cover with a top coat to make it last a lifetimeeeee.

Have a great weekend everyone. Let me know if you try this out and tweet me your pics :)

Love Box

Printed Cardboard Box - £2 - John Lewis
Sweet Bags - Handmade by Me
'Mix Tape' CD Envelope - Handmade by Me
Valentine's Edition Love Inspired Bracelets - £11 - Buvy
Barry M Nail Varnish: Gold Glitter & Mint Green - £2.99 each - Superdrug

To celebrate this Valentines, I decided to make my three BFFs a little gift each. I saw this super cute heart and flower printed box in John Lewis and thought it would be lovely to fill with some goodies. They do it in a medium and a large size - I've gone for the medium as I already had an idea of the gifts I was going to put in it. I mocked up the little sweet bag toppers on photoshop one evening and they turned out so cute! I was thinking about maybe selling them on my etsy store, and maybe doing some Mother's day and Birthday ones - leaving the bag empty for you to fill with whatever you like.

I had the girls over last weekend and I'd made a playlist of old r&b songs for us to listen to while we got ready - they loved reminiscing so I thought I'd make them a CD each to put in their cars. I made the Envelope by ripping a page out of an old magazine - I tried to go for something a bit Valentines-y with these beaut red lips and soft waves (a look I might try myself this weekend)

Next up are Buvy bracelets. Buvy is my own project, I design and make delicate, dainty bracelets and sell on Etsy and Asos Marketplace. I put together a love inspired set for a super cute arm stack this Valentines. My girls are always asking for new ones, so I know they'll love this.

And whoooo doesn't love a good Barry M polish - I'm a bit obsessed with them if I'm honest, I must have over 40 (oops) Can't wait to buy from the *new* textured collection which go on sale in stores tomorrow - there is already the 'Station Road' yellow on the superdrug website. It's not my fave colour out of the 4, I think I'll go for the 'Rigley Road' mint green or the 'Kingsland Road' peach - knowing me I'll probably go for both ha ha.

I hope you enjoyed my gift ideas :)

Berry Biscuit

Oatmeal Wool Coat - £30 - Topshop
Burgundy Lace Dress - £35 - Topshop
Oatmeal Knitted Scarf - Hand Knitted by my Mom
Gold Box Chain & Leather Belt - £12 - Topshop
Gold Spike Bracelet - £45 - Stella & Dot
Gold Bead & Chain Bracelet - £15 - Stella & Dot
Gold Bead & Mint Thread Bracelet - Buvy
Gold Open Heart Ring - £23 - Etsy
Black Leather Boots - £65 - Miss Selfridge

I bought this gorgeous oatmeal/biscuit coloured coat just last week. While moseying around my fave shop - I spotted this little number sitting lonely on a rail, crying 'buy me, buy meeee' and at a steal price of £30, I just couldn't resist. I did wonder if it might be a little late in the day to be buying a winter coat. Seeing as next month is pretty much classed as Spring, but as it snowed today I figured with the tempera-mental-ness of British weather, it's never too late for a stylish wardrobe staple.

My boots are also relatively new, it was between these lovely leather ones or a gorgeous pair of fringed suede ones - which I think I might also get at some point in the foreseeable future. I find it so hard to buy shoes, I'm trying to make a valid effort to not be so picky. I've got some amazing Kurt Geiger nudey-pink flats on there way to me, I bought them with the £20 gift voucher with this months ELLE. They are suuuuper stylish and getting them for £29 instead of £49 definitely helped.

Anywayyyyys hope you enjoyed my first blog post :)
